9670.0. "2GB 8200's system parameter tuning" by 23141::JASONHUANG () Wed Apr 30 1997 01:28

    In our area, we get a 2GB memory 8200 to run oracle application.
    For this is the first large memory machine we meet, Can any guru
    give us a advice to tuning the system para to replace default
    value.

9670.1what does Oracle say?GIDDAY::STRAUSStalking through my binocularsWed Apr 30 1997 18:357
    I think Oracle provide some tuning recommendations for their own
    products. Start there and see how the system performs. Then fine-tune
    it if that's still necessary.

    Hope this helps

    Lots of info on the web. Did you check out

       http://yesmom.zko.dec.com/html/oracle.htm

    Also, see note 6314.1.

    A Comet search (http://encke.alf.dec.com/cgi/v4.2) will give you a
    number of other Oracle tuning hits in this notesfile.
