IDRP is ISO(aka OSI)'s "Inter-Domain Routing Protocol" is a exterior
routing protocol similar to BGP. BGP-(currently at version 4) is what
currently used in "Internet Backbone Routing". Intead of ennhancing
BGP-4 further for policy-base routing for IPv4 and IPv6 (IPPng), IETFF
is promoting BGP to be eventully replaced by IDRP for both IPv4 and IPv6.
Starting from Digital UNIX V4.0, we have included newerr Gated that included
BGP-4 (used for boarder gateway as it's name stands). We have not seen
host-based Operting System's to play much role in Exterior Routing
and it's non-mandatory RFC feature for host operating systems.

Digital UNIX does not support IDRP. Can you please name which host
Operating Systems vendor(s) support IDRP?
Note that IDRP is currently developed by Merit Networks, inc as part of
the defense grant to support policy based routing from ground to Air
traffic control systems. Merit Networks is also the developer of Gated
and i expect IDRP to be included in Gated. But we don't have it yet.
