9618.0. "Can't open display error again !" by VAXRIO::63222::Manoel () Thu Apr 24 1997 20:23

	Hi, everyone

I'm trying to start Networker V4.2a from consol using a normal
account in a Digital Unix V4.0a, issuing a su command.
	What happens is:
	$su
 	password:123456
	$nsrd
	$networker &
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
	Error: Can't open display:0.0

If I issue a "su -" command instead of "su", then the error
message is only:
	Can't open display:0.0

Finally if I login to root from the beggining then Networker
session starts fine.

I was just trying to find a good explanation to what is
happening.
Tkanks in advance for any help.
	Regards.

What it is telling you is that the original login user owns
the display and that you need to do /usr/bib/X11/xhost + before the
"su". Since I am new to CDE also, I can't tell you exactly how to
modify the session security settings to make them permanent.

Well, in fact the only thing I had to do was to authorize the node
name of the machine in a window destinated to to such authorization.
I'll post below the sequence of windows to be opened in order to get
there, because it is not that simple.

-Application Manager(little drawer below in the right side)
		-System Admin
		-Daily Admin
		-Host Manager
		-Click on the desired host
		-Options
		-Host in Access List
		-Enable

	Finally the authorization is done.
	Tks.
