I have a customer who is considering going to TruCluster memory channel config from ASE. Although it is an Oracle application, they do not plan to move to OPS for quite some time. They want to know if they can do the following: 1. use DRD and DLM with memory channel without the OPS software. 2. If they want to do ftp and TCP communications, will memory channel help speed communication? Is there alot of software development involved in getting the above to work without OPS. Forough

Yes they can...do they plan to code to the DLM apis? > 2. If they want to do ftp and TCP communications, will memory channel > help speed communication? The can use MC as a network interconnect between the nodes. > > Is there alot of software development involved in getting the above to > work without OPS. #1 is hard to understand what they want to do... so it is also hard to comment on how easy or hard it might be. #2 is easy. > > Forough | |||||

Eric, Thanks for the information. I need to get more information from the customer regarding whether if they plan to code to the DLM APIs or not. Regards, Forough |
