9611.0. "sysconfigtab problem (revisited)" by OHFSS1::KANNAPAREDDY () Thu Apr 24 1997 11:40

    Greetings folks,
    	I am reposting this note, since the workaround in my
    	earlier postings did not work( thanks Sri). I am running
    	a Digital unix V4.0 (rev 386) system (8400) with 8GB
    	of swap space. And I need to manage my crash dump files,
    	basically I need to up my "dump-sp-threshold" parameter.

    	the strange thing is when I try to get the max value by
    	using the follwoing command:

    	#sysconfig -Q generic dump-sp-threshold
    	generic:
    	dump-sp-threshold -     type=INT op=CRQ min_val=0 max_val=4096
        #

    	As you can see the max. value is "burned" in as "4096" 512K
    	blocks???? And I need to up the value to a "much" bigger
    	number. When I tried to change the value, it gave me an
    	error:
        "dump-sp-threshold: value of length of the attribute is too large"

    	Any ideas on how to change the max. value for this parameter?

    	Thanks
    	Mohan
