9562.0. "getproplist error from pax/setld / LANG Variable" by UTOPIE::FRUEHWIRTH_B () Mon Apr 21 1997 05:00
Hi!
Just want to put this information into this notes file because
it took me some time to find the reason for the following
problem:
We did an upgrade from Digital Unix V3.2g to V4.0a and starting
from the second subset (OSFBIN410) we got the following message
for every file in the subset:
getrpoplist: No such file or directory
The upgrade completed and we found out that the message is from
the "pax -r -w -d -p e" command and we were still getting this
messages when using this pax command or installing another subset
with setld.
The reason for this was the "LANG" Variable that was set to
"de_DE.ISO8859-1" on this system, after unsetting the LANG Variable
pax and setld did not produce the message anymore. I also tested
on my V4.0b (new installed) system: As soon as the LANG Variable is
set to something different than C pax or setld -l give the error.
Regards,
Birgit
