9557.0. "Novell NDS "integration"?" by USPS::FPRUSS (Frank Pruss, 202-232-7347) Sat Apr 19 1997 10:34
We have a customer where some are making a stink that DIGITAL UNIX does
not "play" in a Novell Network Directory Services (NDS) environment.
This seems wierd as the only uses currently contemplated for UNIX are
backend databases (ORACLE).
Are there any third party products that allow DECUNIX apps to access
NDS?
What is the competetive UNIX situation? (Whose FUD is this likely to be?)
I am trying to find where in the account this is coming from and what
they have in NDS that they would like DIGITAL UNIX applications to look
at. To the best of my knowledge, the main thing they have in NDS are
locations of Novell File and Print shares.
If you are aware of other "interesting" things that could be in NDS,
please let me know.
