Hi
What I should I use for a non-PCI graphics controller on an AlphaServer
2100A Digital UNIX system? According to:
http://www.digital.com/alphaserver/tech_docs/
alphasrv2100a/docs/supported_options.html#Video
only five vide options are supported. PB2GA-AA (an EISA option) is no
longer in the Price List, and PB2GA-CA is not supported (but can be
kludged to work) on Digital UNIX. I don't want to 'waste' a PCI slot
on a graphics controller on a server.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

The currently shipping ISA card for DU is the ATI ISA Mach64. It's the PB2GA-FB. One thing to be carful of is that it requires a different ECU file depending on whether you are running 3.2* or a V4.* release. See http://healey.zk3.dec.com/hw_query/graphics/Index.html for more info about DU graphics options and see http://www.zk3.dec.com/uhs/graphics/FAQ.html for additional info about ATI64 configuration. Hi Paul
Thanks for the response. Unfortuneately, I can't order the PB2GA-FA or
-FB. According to http://www.businesslink.digital.com (which will soon
replace VTX PRICE), neither of these options is available. The
PB2GA-FB gives a PB2GA-JB is the replacement, as the PB2GA-FB is in
maintenance mode. Here is what is listed for a search of PB2GA-*:
1 PB2GA-CA #9GXE 1280x1024 ISA Graphics
2 PB2GA-JB TRIO64 S3 1MB DRAM PCI card
3 PB2GA-JC PCI graphics mod,1MB DRAM
4 PB2GA-JD PCI graphics mod,2MB DRAM
I know that the PB2GA-CA is not supported on Digital UNIX. So that
leaves only PCI cards. Is this really true that only PCI graphics
cards are supported orderable for Digital UNIX??
Thanks!
