9427.0. "Memory Allocation" by VAXRIO::WK_ESPOZEL () Tue Apr 08 1997 12:04
Hi,
I am migrating an application from AIX to DECUNIX.
I have some doubts about memory allocation
1) The VSZ column is Virtual Size of the Process....
Does the process bellow allocates 21.Mega of swap file ???
PID TTY S TIME SL PAGEIN VSZ RSS %CPU %MEM
COMMAND
21182 ttyqb S + 0:21.19 12 2 21.6M 6.9M 1.0 2.7
CGOAMGR
AMGR CG
2) Is it possible to know what % of RSS is shared with another process
? At AIX there are two columns that (I think ) gives this information
: TRS The size of resident-set (real memory) of text. and
TSIZ The size of text (shared-program) image.
How the VSZ is allocated ????
Thanks in advance, Heraldo
