Will DU 3.2c support scsi wide disks. I have an alcor that's running 3.2c on a wide bus (2 ba356's) linked together. Will this work?

Yes, wide buses work. Data is transfered from wide devices in wide mode, and data from narrow devices is transfered in narrow mode. The only catch is no wide addressing is allowed yet. All SCSI addresses must be in the narrow range (0-7). You will eventually be able to use scsi ID 8-15, but not for a while (it's planned for the Steel release). Fred

Well that explains why I can see the devices at the console but NOT when I boot the generic Kernel. This makes daisy-chaining the ba-356's usless. Drats, Tim

> This makes daisy-chaining the ba-356's usless. Not completely. Remember, you can still put 5" bricks in the BA356 (which would require daisy chained boxes to get a full bus of just 8 devices). And when Steel comes along..... Fred |
