9300.0. "Restoring preconfigured system. How?" by VELENO::MICHIELI (Is IBM DEClining?) Wed Mar 26 1997 13:22
Hi all,
need a guideline.
My customer has to deliver 'configured' UNIX systems to their sites.
They have a dump of the original system and need to completely restore
it into a 'virgin' system. For example when he receive an AlphaStation
with the FIS V.4x he needs to go back to V3.2g with its hown
configuration like the WS IP address/name and a different partitions on
the systems and data disks. The same when a disk crash.
What and which are the steps to follow for this task?
The customer has a medium level of system manager knwoledge (like me).
Best regards,
Gabriele
