Hi all. My customer wants to know if in Digital UNIX v4.0B there is a possibility to start the 'snmpd' daemon to listen to another port, apart of listening to its default port, 161. He says that in other UNIX the 'snmpd' daemon can be started to listen to another port with the '-p port' flag. I have been looking for the 'snmpd.conf' file and files relationed to snmpd, but I haven't found anything about this issue. The same result searching through COMET. Is this possible in Digital UNIX?. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards. Ana

Hi, The only way to do this is to edit the "snmp 161/udp" entry in /etc/services. I always thought the whole reason for "official" standards was to follow them, oh well :-( -Brian [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||
