Marketing deliverables available over next 4-6 weeks.

My customer currently has an 8200 running DU V3. We are planning to
buy a new 8200 to cluster with it, upgrading to V4 at the same time.
Now that the NAS package will not be bundled, does the customer have
to pay extra for this storageworks license (It's not cheap - see
extract from sales update, below)?
Regards,
Jc

Yup, if the system package you order does not have NAS200 in it, then you need to purchase it separately...the choice is StorageWorks or StorageWorks PLUS (with Networker). They are getting the unlimited user licnese, and it makes our offering more in line with our competitors. > > Regards, > > Jc > > QB-5RXAE-AA > StorageWorks Software, Workgroup license > $3,000 > QB-5RXAG-AA > StorageWorks Software, Departmental > license > $7,400 > QB-5RXAQ-AA > StorageWorks Software, Enterprise license > $16,500

Thanks Eric,
How can I tell if the s/w is bundled with ahardware package?
Jc
P.S. The unlimited licence does not help this customer - he only needs
a 2-user licence!

The SOC should show this...in general most will not include NAS any more, but a couple may linger for up to a quarter. regards Eric

Interesting..
The SOC has NAS200 bundled with the 8200 300MHz and NOT bundled with
the 440MHz. Customer not impressed (I guess no-0one read the small
print before placing the order last week).
