| Since they've spent the money to get a medium changer,
they might as well get the jukebox license and whatever
else is needed to use Networker with it. None of the
other programs support it directly.
The other choices are:
o Networker Single Server. Included in the base system
but doesn't support medium-changers (last I knew).
o Dump; for use with UFS only.
o Vdump; for use with UFS or AdvFS.
Many people use tar and cpio for backups, but these are
archive/interchange programs and not really designed for
backups. When you archive something you don't necessarily
expect to restore it soon and if you do, you restore the
whole thing. With backups you hope you don't have to
restore anything, but you want to be able to restore
invidiual file easily for those people you can't figure
out to use rm(1) correctly. With data interchange you
tend to restore the whole archive.
