Hi, Recently I installed IAS kit on Alpha server 400 in customer site, but failed with error message that lack of some resource, the Administration window did not come out. And on some Alpha server 2xx, even netscape navigator cannot be dislpayed with many lines of error message. Is it possible that the IAS or netscape navigator requires certain version of d'unix or graphic card ? Robin Zhang PRC Tech. support

Robin, Can you give me some more information about your environment? What version of Digital Unix are you running? What version of IAS are you installing? What resource was lacking? Do you have the actual error message? IAS is dependant on particular versions of Digital Unix. It also requires that certain Digital Unix optional subsets be installed. It requires that certain options be built into the kernel. It requires that the network, BIND and mail be configured. Lastly, there are certain disk space requirements. In most cases, the IAS installation procedure will try to help you install and configure missing components. The choice of graphics card should be no problem; if Digital Unix supports it, IAS supports it. Have a GREAT day! Pete Stoddard | |||||

I run the IAS3.1 on D'unix V3.2c. Error msg is "lack of resources...", many lines it looks like some trouble with X-resources. Robin |
