9113.0. "V4.0B build help" by TEACH::DAN () Tue Mar 11 1997 15:17
I'm trying to build Digital Unix V4.0B on an Alphaserver 1000A 5/133. I'm
using the serial port for my console device. Below is the >>>show config
from the console followed by the attempt to boot up standalone Unix from
the CD. The boot dies complaining abount "no serial driver". I do have the
console variable "console" set to serial and I've powered off/on.
Any ideas?????
thanks,
dan

| Did you run the OSF/VMS ECU? Was this a NT system? If so, you need to run
ECU to generate the entries required by OSF (like the console).
|
9113.2 | it works now | TEACH::DAN | | Wed Mar 12 1997 09:35 | 6 |
| Yes, it was configured for NT. I had ">>>runecu" to switch to UNIX but
I had forgotten to load the VMS/UNIX ECU floppy.
I works fine now...thanks for your help.
