9088.0. "vm-page-lock-count=0" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Joachim Pfeifer) Mon Mar 10 1997 12:05

One of our customers has told that one of his system is configured with
    vm:vm-page-lock-count=0
There is NO value set for this parameter in file /etc/sysconfigtab.
Trying to set it to another value didn't succeed. I think, I know the
semantics
of this kernel parameter; the default value should be 64.

My questions:
  how is it possible to have such a strange value for this parameter?
  is there any problem for the customer?
  how are the effects of such setting?

The system must be a uni-processor for this to happen. Since there is no need
for the vm_page_lock on a single cpu machine, it is reset by the system. No
memory is allocated for the locks.

So, is it a single cpu machine?
