Hello
I customer is trying to install DU 4.0b on an AXPvme 230.
After upgrading the firmware to version 16.0 he boots from
the OS cdrom, but after probing vba0 the system goes down
to console mode again ... see the log at the end of this note.
Thanks in advance for any hint !
Miguel

Did the same thing happen BEFORE the firmware update to V16.0?
I've been using a AXPvme230 with Unix 4.0b on version 15.0 of the
firmware and haven't experienced this...

Thanks Bob for your reply ... the firmware version does not change anything, it happens with version 15.0 too. ... i received an update from the customer: checking the signals on the vmebus during probe he found, that the reset during probe on the vme bus was passed back to the cpu and so resetting the system. he said something about a switch 3 on the axpvme board, which was closed. opening that switch solved the problem. he is now able to boot beyound the point of probing of vba0 and so continue the unix installation. regards, Miguel [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||
