9082.0. "V3.2F/as4000 Trap:invalid memory read" by CHEFS::ACBREO::carterr () Mon Mar 10 1997 07:43

Hi,

I'm trying to boot an AlphaServer 4000 from a V3.2f CD and I get

trap:invalid memory read access from kernel mode

The firmware is V3.0-10.

Is the firmware wrong? Is the Drive broken? I get the same result when I
try and boot UNIX V4.

9082.3>>set memory_test fullCHEFS::CARTERRBemused of BasingstokeTue Mar 11 1997 04:0712
    Thanks for the answer.

    Another thing to try ( as per alphaserver4100 notesfile
    mvblab::alphaserver_4100) is:

    >>>set memory_test full

    Now I think about it I did see a message "only first 32mb memory
    tested"... :-)

    Regards,
    Richard.
