Hi to all, When I received these call, I smiled a lot of but less now 8-) ... Customer is claiming PS bug in osf 3.2c 3.2d1 3.2d2 3.2e 3.2f 3.2g ... ... ... but seems to be "solved" in 4.0x ... that's not a joke !!! ??? Customer is trying to do a ps -o group and received ciney_#ps -o group ps: unknown variable in format: group I explained to customer REAL/effective GID but customer say : ... it is in man pages... that doesn't work ... it's a bug .... I want patches. Is there somebody that can help me to having "solution" or official explanation ... Other thing : Is it possible that group and rgroup have different values for the same process ??? (tryed on 4.0b but group and rgroup have same values. Customer claims that's possible ... Tryed but always same value). It's not the first time that strange problems are reported from this customer. Hi, Can somebody have ideas/explanations on this thing : customer is making some setgid in some progs and want to use ps -o group,rgroup,command to checking process. he is claiming bus in ps because he got error ps: unknown variable in format: group I checked in the source of the ps but I found code for getting rgroup but not for group.(OSF3.2c) Can somebody give me explanation or workaround ... ??? I tryed on 3.2d 3.2g and I got errors 4.0 4.0b and all is ok. The "group" qualifier got turned on for V4.0 for UNIX95 conformance. In other words, it was a new feature for V4.0 and doesn't exist on earlier releases. |
