9037.0. "Class B netmask allowed in a Class C network?" by ZUR01::SUTTER (Who are you ??? - I'm BATMAN !!!) Wed Mar 05 1997 07:33

    The following question came up today:

    Q1: Is it legal for TCP/IP to have a shorter than default
        netmask? (i.e. IP address 192.168.1.11, Netmask 255.255.0.0)

    Q2: Is this supported with Digital UNIX?

    Thank's & Regards,

    Arnold
