9026.2 | What is Firmware? | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | | Wed Mar 05 1997 06:23 | 13 |
| Hi !
What is the firmware version? Better option is to go for
firmware version 4.3. (current version is 4.0? )
Another try : Boot from vmunix use sizer and doconfig
These should solve the problem. I don't think any patches are
are there for this.

Nagaraj,
The firmware shouldn't make a difference if the adapter is unsupported
by the OS. PCI FDDI isn't supported until 3.2.
See http://lan.zk3.dec.com
Shyam, I'm not sure if patches exist, there was nothing listed on the web.

9026.4 | FDDI modules work with fresh 3.0B | XFMV01::SHYAM | | Sun Mar 09 1997 23:33 | 16 |
|
We installed OSF/1 V3.0B a fresh and the same FDDI modules were
operational.
What we could not figure out was what is wrong with the current setup
where the FDDI modules work with genvmunix but, the moment we build
kernel for these modules, and boot the system with the new kernel, we
get the errors mentioned in .0
BTW, the FDDI modules mentioned in .0 are EISA based modules and not
PCI based as mentioned there.
