8968.0. "V3.2c dxadvise core dump" by TEMPER::"[email protected]" (Robert Fa) Wed Feb 26 1997 04:28

A customer has installed psdc302 on
  a) Server 2100 DU 3.2b (without subsys psdc, cause psdc-install said /tmp linked)
  b) Workstations DU 3.2d.
I'm trying to analyze customer`s .cpd files with dxadvise (pspa302, DU 3.2G or
DU 3.2c). When copying customer`s files to the default collection path
 => dxadvise causes a coredump
    Signal Segmentation fault at [Decode ContextFields:810 +0x10,0x120076030]
When customizing Report/Customizing pspath
 => W: Data is missing for node xxxxxx.
    W: Data is missing for the selection time period.
No entry in psdc_xxxxxx_error.log.
What`s wrong ?

Thanks in advance,

R. Fa

    Have you tried - NOTED::PERF-ADVISOR-OSF ?? The advisor notesfile
    has been very quiet since the purchase Advisor by CA.

    Must ask -- Do you have copies of the psdcparams.dat and
    psdcschedule.dat files as well as the .cpd files ?? You
    probably need the error.log, state.log and lock.log files
    as well.

    BTW - I've heard from CA the new kit is just about complete.
    It has been in limited field test, pretty solid and should
    be available in March .. I would hope April the latest.

Thank`s for pointer NOTED::PERF-ADVISOR-OSF.

All files you asked for are available.

I' ve tried psdcdump to get data. This works for a very short time period,
until psdcdump coredumps.
