8927.0. "vrestore X invalid memory add." by VAXRIO::63222::Manoel () Fri Feb 21 1997 14:21
Hi, folks.
There is a customer with unix 4.0a complaining that is unable
to use "vrestore -i".
The tape has been generated with "vdump -C"
The command "vrestore -l" shows everything ok, status compressed.
I've found no bug at all.
I got the error message by phone and there could be some
differences in its format, but anyway it goes below:
data is not in compressed format
DECTHREADS last chance handler
THREAD 1 exiting on status
exception, invalid memory address
resources lost, core dumped
Does any one has seen this before.
Thanks in advance.

I forgot to tell that the system is Digital Unix 4.0a and that
the file system been backed up is 6 Giga bytes in size.
I'm not able to try to reproduce this here, does any one ever
seen this problem ?
