8926.0. "Importing Oracle from IBM mframe" by TRN02::CARROZZO (hic sunt leones) Fri Feb 21 1997 13:56
Hi,
we're try to downgrade an IBM mainframe running Oracle to ALPHA-Unix
environment.
We got an export from IBM with block-size=4096, the Oracle documentation
says that the EBCDIC to ASCII conversion occurs automatically.
If we try to import the file on ALPHA from the 'oracle' user but we got
these kind of errors :
Connected to: Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.2.3.0 with the 64-bit option -
Production Release
With the distributed, replication and parallel query options
PL/SQL Release 2.3.2.3.0 - Production
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00021: operating system error - error code (dec 2, hex 0x2)
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Due to this behaviour we try to 'dd' and convert the file using the ascii
and unblock options with bad results.
Has somebody managed this kind of enviroment ?
Thanks
Antonio
