8876.0. "ATMwork350 LANemulation Trouble?" by TKOV51::HAYAKAWA (Kouhei Hayakawa, NPB/MS, Osaka HUB6F) Tue Feb 18 1997 21:25
I have a question about ATM network.
We use LAN emulation on GIGAswitch/ATM, and many AlphaServers with
ATMworks350 are connected to GS/ATM.
We have a trouble that some direct vcc of LANE is often hungup.
When this trouble occurs, we must destroy the hungup vcc by the following
command.
#/usr/sbin/atmconfig -vc vpi=0 vci=(vci#) driver=lta0
After this operation, new direct vcc establish and work well.
It seem that this trouble often occurs when we transfer large files which
size is over 20GByte.
Is this trouble a bug of ATMworks350 driver or LAN Emulation?
The Version of Digital Unix is V4.0a, and no patch.
The firmware of GS/ATM is V2.1.1.
Regards,
Kohei/NPB-J

| Is flow control turned on (atmconfig +vfc driver=....)?
Also it would be most advisable to run with the V4.0A plus the latest
patches.
