One of our customers wants to control serial line (RTS, CTS) on
AlphaServer 2100 running Digital UNIX version 4.0*. To do this,
I would like to confirm following:
1) Does serial port for this server support full modem control ?
I've heard that some machine does not supprot modem control
any more. I looked at the installation/owner's guide, but
it does not have this info.
2) Does Digital UNIX V4.0* support CRTSCTS ?
I read in somewhere stating that Digital UNIX V3.2* does not
support CRTSCTS but will be in V4.0*. Is this true ?
If Digital UNIX V4.0* supports CRTSCTS, is there any sample program or
document around which I can give to the customer ?
Also they want timming chart for this serial line. Does anyone have it ?

| We support full modem control on both ports of the 2100 and as of V4.0* we
support hardware flow control (RTS/CTS). To enable this feature you need to
set the CRTSCTS line attribute either by using the stty utility (see man 1
stty)
or issuing the termios ioctl tcsetattr() (see man 4 termios).
As far as timing charts for the uart goes we have none.
