8854.0. "ksh problems in 4.0A" by VAXRIO::MIRIAM (Unix Group - CSC/Brazil) Mon Feb 17 1997 13:22

    Hi,

      A customer uses 'readonly' command in a korn shell session to define
    that a variable should not be modified. In version 3.2 this command
    worked fine for both, shell and environment variables. After upgrading
    the system to version 4.0A he is unable to define a environment
    variable as readonly. A 'readonly' command removes a variable from the
    env list and an 'export' command removes it from the readonly list.
    Which version has the correct behaviour? Is there a solution for
    getting in 4.0A the same behaviour we had in 3.2?

     Thanks in advance,

        Miriam
