8814.0. "Comparing Kernals 3.2" by SWAM1::POIANI_MI () Wed Feb 12 1997 20:13
I am comparing kernal params between 2 machines, as I am trying to
match up tuning that has been done. I checked sysconfigtab and
rc.config and everything looks good.
The machine I want to emulate has these params, that are not on the
new box, both machines are running Digital UNIX 3.2.
When I do sysconfig -q here are the differences:
vm:
ubc-wait-for-io = 1 (this one eludes me)
vm-anonklshift = 17
vm-anonklpages = 1
(on original system not, on new build, how are they set?))
io:
select-chunk-elements = 256
select-max-elements = 2128
(on original system, not on new build)
I also find things on the new build that don't exist on the older box,
for example in vm everything from contig_malloc_percent = 20
through enable-madvise-dontneed = 0, about 10 items.
