[A customer recently sent the following to us (Digital Fortran.) Is there
a setld expert here who can comment?

Hello Mr. Lionel,
I did a recent installation of Fortran on a 4.0B system and noticed that
the installation bug of dUnix packages or layered products is still
present (now since 2.x). When the LANG variable is not C but set to a
locale (de_DE.ISO8859-1 in my case) the installation prodcedures get big
troubles with names i.e. the sets are created with
very strange names and many procedures fail for this reason.

This is a general problem with setld!
Maybe you can either improve the situation or announce that
setenv LANG C
is a must.
