8656.0. "boot unix v4.0a from hsz50 disk" by SALEM::WONG () Thu Jan 30 1997 16:16
Can we boot unix v4.0b from HSZ50 ?
When we tried to install unix v4.0b from CD-rom which connected to
HSZ50, we got the followings :
Enter the current date (as mm-dd-yy): 01-30-97
Enter the current time, in 24 hour format (as hh:mm): 14:37
** Scanning system for disk devices. Please wait ...
/isl/Install [load_finder_output], FATAL ERROR:
Unable to determine what hardware is available for installation:
"finder -q" failure file "/tmp/finder.abort" exists
The installation procedure failed or was intentionally exited. To restart
the installation, halt and reboot the system or enter: restart
-------------------
With the sizer -n we got :
MAKEDEV fd0 rz2 rzb32 rzc32 rzd32 rzb33 rzc33 rzd33 rzb34 rzc34 rzd3
---------------------
we tried to MAKEDEV with all above and ln -s with rz32, the
installation went a little further to newfs and abort during to overlap
the partitions
If anybody know how to get around the above boot from HSZ50 will help.
Thank you.
