hi, A customer of mine encounter a strange problem with Digital v4.0A and the -m option with lpr. he uses lpr -Plpxxx -m file.txt and the mail looks like this(the file was printed and the it works fine but ..): Message 29: From daemon Mon Jan 27 10:45:32 1997 Date: Mon, 27 Jan 1997 10:45:29 +0100 From: system background account <daemon> To: [email protected] Subject: printer job Your printer job (tele.txt) was printed but had some errors and in lpr.log file : Jan 27 09:52:00 xamial lpd[7375]: lps32: Daemon filter 'f' terminated (-1) Jan 27 09:52:00 xamial lpd[7375]: lps32: filter/access error for dfA076xamial.evt.dec.com Jan 27 09:52:41 xamial lpd[7375]: lps32: Daemon filter 'f' terminated (-1) Jan 27 09:52:41 xamial lpd[7375]: lps32: filter/access error for dfA077xamial.evt.dec.com Why ? These messages also appear in the log files. They are due to a bug that has been found and fixed. The fixes will appear in the next major release of Digital UNIX. This bug does not affect the printed job, some return values are not handled properly, so these messages always appear. They can be ignored, but you may want to check log files if you do a lot of printing. Log files might get quite big, if they are not removed from time to time. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||
