8580.0. "v3.2g cron strange behaviour !!!" by PANTER::MARTIN (Be vigilant...) Fri Jan 24 1997 11:46
Has somebody already encountered a strange behaviour with
cron on Digital Unix v3.2g ???
Customer of mine reported a strange case where it seems that
cron jobs start untimely from time to time, not everyday,
not at the same time.
The strangest point is the fact that the 2 different user cron
jobs start together untimely !!!
eg.
root jobs schedule: 23h00 every day
iidba jobs schedule: 22h00 every day
started untimely on:
13 jan. 10h39
22 jan. 14h13
24 jan. 13h51
The jobs were re-executed 2 second time at the correct time the
same days...???
The customer says that the same crontab entries and procedures
do run successfully at other locations (but other Unix version).
I haven't found such a problem reported, are there any other
case like this which could make us think that there is a bug
with cron on Digital Unix v3.2g ?
Feedbacks will be welcomed,
