Hi, I need more help about DUNIX NFS with SCO UNIX. Does DUNIX support rpc.lockd with SCO UNIX 3.2.4? We have found the rpc.lockd was died abnormally. The DUNIX is V2.1 with patches.osf-v2.0-17nov95 rpc.lockd replaced. Does ACU COBOL support file/record locking with NFS operation? We need confirm it, because the ACU COBOL program can't open NFS mount files in the DUNIX exported directory. Thanks in advance.

rpc.lockd should work. However, it has never worked very well, at least not until recently. One of the problems in pre V3.0 code is a lack of interlocking with signal handlers that could cause your symptoms, but there are several other possibilities. A much better lockd is in the works as a patch, but trying to port something to pre V3.0 kernels would be a major task. Hmm. perhaps not too major. The biggest problem is that the KLM version changed to support NFS V3. It might be possible to modify the KLM code to talk the old version. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
