As a followup: The problem was that the PC application didn't negotiate tcp_keepalive timers "on", so they were assumed "off" (as per RFC1122). The high CPU usage was caused by the local shell 'trapping' signals that would have allowed the shell to exit and the telnet session to close normally. The problem was resolved by removing the 'trap' statement from the shell script which was run from the shell startup file. (this was used to start a menu system) -Jason [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
