Thanks

6557.13 | official patches available for v4.0x | RUSURE::KATZ | | Thu Mar 13 1997 10:49 | 12 |
| I don't know about internet availability. I've heard
there's some activity in this area. Talk to Sharon
Reynolds if you have suggestions.
Meanwhile the official patches for dump
OSF400-079 SUBSET(s): OSFHWBASE400 OSFCLINET400
OSF405-400079 SUBSET(s): OSFHWBASE405 OSFCLINET405
at the moment there is no patch for v4.0b however the
v4.0a patches for dump would work fine there and should
not cause any regressions. I'll make sure it eventually
shows up in v4.0b

6557.14 | Dumping with automount | MARVIN::GOUGH | Raoul Gough | Mon Apr 14 1997 13:03 | 26 |

Hello,
>Meanwhile the official patches for dump

>OSF405-400079 SUBSET(s): OSFHWBASE405 OSFCLINET405
I've just installed these patches on a 4.0 system. I'm getting a dump
failure to an automount drive, with the error report:
The available blocks(0),is less than the estimated blocks(100696)
I'm trying to dump it to an automatically mounted NFS drive. The automount
daemon creates a mount point and then a link to it, so I'm really dumping
to a symbolically linked directory.
By the way, I've tried dumping it to the real mount point which automount
creates, but that failed after a while. Automount probably unmounted it
because nobody was using the link.
Is this a supported mode of use?
Thanks,
Ray.
