| Hello,
My customer want to have a multi language system, supporting eight
kinds of different languages. My question is: does Digital UNIX provide
Arabic support? From the system perfomence point of view, will a system
suffer a lot to have so many languages?
Thanks,
Brenda

| We do not provide Arabic support at this time. If this is a critical
need you should contact our product manager for this space: Barbara
Power ([email protected]). For many years people have asked for this
support but absolutely no one has been able to provide any business
justification.
System performance issues are dependent more on other factors than the
number of simultaneous languages supported. In order to more accuratley
answer your question we need to know which languages - this makes a
huge difference. Asian languages typically require more memory for
example. When sorting text files in locales other than the C locale,
which is base on ASCII, you will see increased times but again it is
dependent on the particular file and the language being used.
