Hi, I have a customer running ALL-IN-1 3.2, PMDF and Keypak. He consistently has WORD documents received by ALL-IN-1. He knows the handling type for these documents is Foreign. This makes it hard to read the document. Customer was told by PMDF that the MR Type and Handling Type fields can be customized within ALL-IN-1. What can be done to have these WORD documents contain a handling type compatible with WORD? Customer also mentioned if he does a FULLDB on the document and changes the handling type to WORD6, he can edit the file but the document can not be saved. Thanks, Melinda

When you refer to 'WORD' documents do you mean 'Microsoft Word' or 'Microsoft Word for Windows'? What is the Data type and Handling of a 'WORD' document after it has been received by ALL-IN-1? This can be displayed by selecting the document in an WP, EM or FC menu or index and typing GOLD/V. The shipped version of ALL-IN-1 does not create documents with a Handling type of Foreign. It will create documents with a Data Type of FOREIGN and the Handling set to other values. The shipped version of ALL-IN-1 sets up some initial FORMAT master entries but WORD6 is not one of them. Therefore this must have been added by the customer and it is hard to answer questions about it without seeing a full description of the entry. Richard |
