I have been doing some testing on my system in the office. I am running ALL-IN-1 V3.2 with Mailbus and XMR. All seem to work - but one thing. The test I am doing is sending a message from VMS mail to an ALL-IN-1 user - this works. What does not work is if I reply to the message. The VMS mail user does not get the reply and I get a ND. The ND is as follows: Report 1 Addressee: DDA:XMRROUTE=system@mrgate@x400; o=mrgateway;p=digital;a=mci;c=us Reason Code: 6 Reason: A required directory service operation failed. Diagnostic Code: 0 Diagnostic: This mail address has not been recogized. When I send the message and do the following ncl command ncl> show mta mpdu * all I see the message being exported to xmr. I then get a ND. Does the VMS user have to have a MTS entry? Please help Greg

>> Does the VMS user have to have a MTS entry? No, they shouldn't need one. Please can you provide this information: What is the exact TO: address entered in VMSmail when sending the original message? From which node do you send the message? On which node is MRGATE installed? What does the FROM address look like when this message arrives in ALL-IN-1? (Use SH, as this gives you more information than just 'R'eading the message). When you create the reply, what does the TO address look like? (Again, use SH). After you've sent the reply, what does the TO address look like (it may change during the Send)? Can you send - rather than reply - a message from ALL-IN-1 to VMSmail via MAILbus 400? If so what address do you use (nb node::username doesn't count). Can you send other messages from ALL-IN-1/MB400 to recipients on Message Router? If so, what address(es) do you use? Can you send messages from Message Router users to this particular VMSmail user - again, if so what address(es) do you use? Ta, Scott |
