2686.0. "Dump error - accvio" by LISA2::SEPULVEDA (The Sunshine People) Tue May 20 1997 21:16

    Hi All,

    A custommer has reported a problem and I do not know what might be
    causing it.

    This custommer has VMS 7.1 (Alpha)
                       ALL-IN-1 v3.1

    The installation was OK ( after def. of SYS$NODE in SYLOG* file)

    The custommer used the system for about 2 weeks , creating all the user
    accounts.

    Last weekend they decided to do a Backup/image of the Alpha system and
    when the system rebooted they where no longer able to use ALL-IN-1.

    What happens is the following:

    User logs in as ALLIN1
    $ALLIN1/us=manager

    The main menu comes up OK.
    When they do EM or WP or any other option on the main menu they get the
    following error message:

    %SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual
    address=000000007AFB  A000, PC=FFFFFFFF81CE1064, PS=0000001B

    Improperly handled condition, image exit forced.
    Signal arguments: Number=0000000000000005
    		      Name  =000000000000000C
    			     7AFBA00000010000
    			     81CE10647AFBA000
    			     0000001B81CE1064
    			     000000050000001B
    Register Dump:
    R0 = 0000000000000000   R1= 00000000000000001   R2 = 00000000000EF8A0
    R3 = FFFFFFFF80C3C5A0   R4 = 000000007AFB7450  ... etc ...

    And the user is back at the $ prompt.

    Does anyone know what the problem might be ?

    What can we change ?

    Thank You all very much for all your help.
    Best Regards
    	Ana

2686.1Patch, Relink?IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeWed May 21 1997 08:293
    Try relinking the image. Does this happen for all users? There's a V3.1
    patch that you ought to have if you're using V7.1, that might fix it, I
    can't remember the symptoms of the problem.
2686.2ICF 48 for ALL-IN-1 V3.1IOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-F/J9Wed May 21 1997 11:269
ICF 48 contains a fix for running ALL-IN-1 V3.1 on OpenVMS V7.0 or V7.1.
The fix was in ALL-IN-1's condition handling code.

The customer should install ICF 48 to see if this fixes the problem. I
don't understand why the sytem would work for two weeks and only fail when
rebooted.
