2676.0. "ALL-IN-1 + AltaVista Directory ?" by VAXRIO::RICARDO () Wed May 14 1997 14:07

    Is there any kind of integration with AltaVista Directory?
    Can I use my ALL-IN-1/DDS as a database to AV Directory?
    Is there a utility to migrate?
    Thanks in advance.
    Attached is the reply I received from a question posted on the AVForum
    Forum.
    Regards,
    	Ricardo Pinto

    No there is no specific integration with ALL-IN-1 and none with DDS.
    AltaVista Directory is a generic Internet LDAP directory though. Newer
    versions of ALL-IN-1 and Teamlinks may be able to make use of it. Check
    with the ALL-IN-1 people.

2676.1Office Server supports LDAPIOSG::HOLTDDave HoltWed May 14 1997 15:169
Ricardo,

The new DIGITAL Office Server V4.0 planned to ship in July supports LDAP
enabling it to populate and utilise LDAP directories such as Altavista and PMDF.
All ALL-IN-1 V3.2 Service paying customers will receive Office Server V4.0 as
part of their service contract during Q1.

Dave

    In essence we do support the AltaVista Directory in Office Server.
    However the current version of AltaVista Directory does not allow its
    schema to be customised to allow the attribute types required by Office
    Server, which severely limits our ability to populate the directory. A
    later version of AltaVista Directory will allow such customisation.

    This is not a problem with PMDF-X500. The schema can be customised.

    Regards
