Two ALL-IN-1 clusters WOTVAX V3.1 OSEC V3.2 File cabinet server installed on OSEC but trying to connect from WOTVAX gives the message "Insufficient privilege for requested function". This worked yesterday morning ! Failed when more than one user attempting connection. Proxies are in place. Installation performed without documentation and so possible configuration error. Can anyone direct me to V3.2 docs or give me some hints. Form SM$PROXY_MENU is failing. Builds a perculiar symbol for location of NET$PROXY that is rarely correct. Is there a patch for this ? Is this the causeof the problem ? Thanks. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

What OpenVMS version is this? and is it a VAX or Alpha? You can get in a lot of trouble with NETPROXY.DAT and NET$PROXY.DAT notbeing in step in V6.1 Alpha. Make sure that both NETPROXY and NET$PROXY only exist in one place in the system root directory, not in sys$specific too, and that you have logicals pointing to both of them. See Note 7 in this conference for pointers to kits and docs. The installation Guide is most easily accessed via the CONDIS CD, but you're unlikely to have done anything wrong during installation. Finally, standard programming law applies here: If it used to work, then you must have changed something - what was it!!!!! |
