2602.0. "%OAFC-W-INVATTRVAL,Value...attribute too long" by BEHORN::PLATTNER () Thu Apr 03 1997 17:04

Abstract:
---------
I am getting (error) messages:
+--                              - Messages -                               ---+

under certain circumstances when trying to create a document on a remote
system. The customer has DSO (Distributed Sharing Options) installed.

Note:
The message symbols are:	oa$_wp_credocfail
and				oa$_wp_create_fail
respectively  occuring in		script DOCCREATE

near
	CAB create #folder,#default_file,#edit_doc

Details:
--------

 I get the messages described above when trying to create documents
in 'the' target drawer on a remote system

	OJHE04::"[MANAGER]FORMULES"
				(GES_FORMULES has all rights granted)

when operating under 'the' dedicated account on the source system
 	OJDE01::,
	GES_FORMULES 	respectively

Doing the same operations from 'my' account every thing works ok as expected.

As the procedure containing those statements are executing in batch mode,
the workaround adopted now, is to run the job from 'my' account by help of
 the qualifier
 SUBMIT..../USER=my_account

It would be nice to run the procedure from the dedicated account,
GES_FORMULES.

Questions
---------

Which parameters have I to control in which way to meet the
attribute (length) restrictions ?

Some values:
oa$curdwr		node::"[MANAGER]FORMULES"
#folder			FORMULES DE RFRENCE
#default_file

some differences between dedicated account and 'my' account
Field FULLNAM is the most striking one
?

May it be that it is a access/privilege problem?
Although PROXY definition guarantees that GES_FORMULES on one system
has the same rights as on the other system.

Would anyone help?
Thanks
Georges

    Georges,

    When you say it works for 'my_account', I presume this is also on the
    source system (OJDE01::) where you also have the GES_FORMULES account ?

    I have no definite answers, but here's some things to check :

    a) What do the proxies for each of these accounts look like ?
    b) Is there anything different in privileges/quotas between the two
       accounts  ?
    c) What is the FULLNAM difference that you mentioned ?
    d) What version of ALL-IN-1 are the two systems, any patches ?
    e) As the FCS is complaining about attribute lengths, you might want to try
       adding the remote drawer to the GES_FORMULES account, so that instead
       of selecting the drawer using the full NODE::"[OWNER]DRAWER"
       specification you can just use the drawer name directly. I don't think
       this will make a difference, but worth a try.

    -Kevin.
