| Hi Ingo.
No, there are no such scripts, because this is not a supported upgrade
(the direct 2.3->3.2). You have to go 2.*->3.{something, can't remember}
then V3.2. Obviously, there are many more things changed between V2.*
and V3.* than just the data files (shared filing, groups, mail system,
directory support, etc.).
But, if you are just interested in the data files, then you would need
to do the various file converts using the 'old' and 'new' forms e.g.
<oa$cnv_convert V23_smtemplate smtemplate. This is just about all the
conversion scripts in kipostinstall do. Finding the conversion 'old'
forms could be tricky though.
cheers,
DaveT

| V3.0 supported installations from V2.3, but since then upgrades have
only been supported from the previous version so you would need to go :
V2.3 -> V3.0 -> V3.1 -> V3.2
The forms required to convert from V2.3 data files can be obtained from
the V3.0 kit. They should all have names of the form V23_<formname> and
are in the manager form library. Note you also probably need the upgrade
scripts, which would also be in the V3.0 kit.
To determine all the conversions and other upgrade operations
performed, I suggest you look at kipostinstall.com in each V3.0, V3.1 &
V3.2 kit. You may be able to cobble together a combined script
covering all upgrades.
Hope this helps. Graham may be able to provide more information when
he returns after Easter.
Martin.

If this is for a customer, I suggest you contact Wendy Ellis. I
don't know about 2.3, but she has tools by which she can leap-frog from
2.4 to 3.2. She provides this as a consulting service only though, the
tools are not available to the customer.

| When ALL-IN-1 is upgraded there can also be user data files which need to
be converted.
Installation and Post Installation procedues convert system files but user
data files have usually been converted when a user runs ALL-IN-1 for the
first time after the upgrade. If the ALL-IN-1 upgrade is for more than
over version then it is possible that some user data file conversions don't
get performed and problems can result. Even if you upgrade the system
through every ALL-IN-1 version it is possible that users never run the
interim versions and so the data file conversions are not performed.
I don't remember all the user data file conversions which have been made
between V2.3 and V3.2. However, I do remember that problems with Spell
Checker data files occurred when ALL-IN-1 versions have been skipped.
Conversions of user print style files for V3.2 were made to handle upgrades
from V3.0 and V3.1.

| Note 641 contains some information about the file conversions performed
during the various upgrades, but as you'll see, I didn't finish it for
all versions.
IM(H)O it'll take you longer to extract all the forms and scripts and
make sure you did the right things than to do all the upgrades, which
on a suitably fast machine with AWD and all the kits on a local disc
will only take about six hours altogether.
And you'll be pretty certain that the system will work afterwards....
