I have just setup a new ALL-IN-1 server and is having some printing problem.

Seem that it does not allows us to change the pitch to 16 for laser printer.
It is working for dot-matrix printer.


I was told to run the PTU.exe but couldn't find it anywhere in my system.  Is it
something extra I must install??

OpenVMS for Alpha v7.1
ALL-IN-1 IOS Server for OpenVMS V3.2 BL101B

    Presumably you are using WPS-PLUS. If so, I need more info.
    
    How are you changing the pitch (pagination setting, control block, etc)?
    What are you getting on the printer?
    What Printer Style (and therefore which Printer Table) are you using?
    
    PTU.EXE was replaced, a couple of versions back, by the Printer Tables
    subsystem. If you have application programmer (I think?) privs then you
    can access this subsystem from WP PT. Any changes you make to printer
    tables will only affect you. For permanent (system-wide) changes you
    need to use Customization Management.

    If it's PostScript from WPS-PLUS, then try with a simple change of
    A4PS.PRA or PS.PRA in WPL$PRT.
    Check the protection afterwards. It should be W:RE.

I am changing pitch at the pagination setting.  My users have been using pitch
16 to print 132 column on a portrait page.  Now, it doesn't work.  Output is
same as pitch 10.
