ALL-IN-1 V3.1 TLC V2.1 TeamLinks PC client V2.5 A customer has a mixed VAX/ALPHA cluster running ALL-IN-1/TLC. Recently for no apparent reason his clients are unable to connect (sometimes to the ALPHA sometimes to the VAX) getting the standard "File cabinet server etc. etc...." error. He sees that both the OAFC and AIDA servers are running. He has tried stopping/starting them but to no avail. Once he was able to stop/restart ALL-IN-1 and it came back to life; on other occassions, the only resource is to reboot. The first thing I suggested was to upgrade to TLC V2.5 and then see what happens. He'll do this tonight. Can anyone comment if the V2.5 addressed any similar problems. In the meantime I'd appreciate any ideas etc. Thanks, Cb.

Cb, TLC V2.5 is probably a good starting point. After that I'd recommend they install ICF 46 which is an accumulation of FCS fixes. The server has radically changed since TLC V2.1 days, we can't really look into the customer problem in any more detail until they are running more up to date software. Fingers crossed the TLC + ICF will fix things up... -Kevin. |
