2208.2What is the workaround ??KERNEL::BURDENIThu Apr 17 1997 11:325
    I have just received a call from a customer highlighting this as a
    problem he has encountered. How does the customer work around this new
    vms feature ?

    Ivan.

    I don't think it's a new feature, it happens when you have muliple
    queue managers, I believe. There's a discussion about it in the OpenVMS
    conference VAXAXP::VMSNOTES Notes 282.* which points to further
    discussion in CSC32::BATCH_PRINT_SERVICES.

    For ALL-IN-1 there isn't an obvious workround. Perhpas you could
    customise the data files that hold the entry number, but I don't know
    what else you might have to change. This is why we didn't fix it
    before.

    I remember the debate about this before we shipped V3.2 (and perhaps
    even V3.1) but we defeated Dave's arguments on the basis that no-one
    had reported it.... Clearly we were wrong :-)

    My customer, has updated all the relevant forms, eg SM$MHP$READ, I
    think he is looking for some commitment fromDigital for future
    updates/releases to have this fixed.

    Thanks for the info I shall go and read the conferences in question.

    Is it worth submitting an IPMT ?
