| Hi - I know this note is "old" but was a resolution ever determined?
I received the following today from a customer - looks like the
SAME problem (even the name of the document!).
=======================================================================
I'm hoping you can help me with a question posed to me by a user. She
found a message in her READ folder that she had no previous knowledge of.
Her name shows as sender and recipient. I've included a SHOW HEADER
display of the message. I don't know how it could get a status of READ
and be in her .MSG directory instead of an OA$SHARxnnn directory. It
also has no date sent. I can't explain how it came to be.
We are running A1 V3.0A , VAX VMS V5.5-2, MR V3.2+patches. Here's the
header:

| Hi,
In V3.0 there were problems with the CABINET UNSHARE function. Is it
possible that your customer is running the UNSHARE housekeeping
customisation, that unshares all messages with a usage count of 1?
Cheers
Stuart

1415.8 | No - not using UNSHARE | AIMTEC::GRENIER_J | Jean Grenier | Wed Apr 02 1997 21:52 | 6 |
| No, according to customer they never used UNSHARE customization.
Any other ideas????
Thanks,
Jean

1415.9 | Any clues that might help determine where it came from? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Thu Apr 03 1997 11:09 | 7 |
| Was there anything in the text that could have given a clue where it
might have come from? Or did anything significant happen on the date
the message was created? I'm thinking of system crashes, disc restores,
data file corruptions, FCVR runs, etc.
Of course V3.0 is pretty old now, so perhaps there was a bug that we've
subsequently fixed.
