If one were to order Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows NT Alpha from Digital (Digital part number QB-3KNAA-WA) today would one get V4.2 or what? Also is there an update part number? (Customer says he has V4.1 and wants to go to V4.2.) Rich

This question would be better asked in the DECWET::VISUAL conference or directly of the product manager, Eric Getsinger. I've forwarded your question to Eric for a definitive answer. Note that VC++ V5.0 will be available real soon now, if not already. Pursuing that may be a lot easier. R. | |||||

For Alpha, V4.0A (== Intel V4.1) is still the product that ships from both Microsoft and Digital. I had been individually sending copies of V4.2 to companies who had a burning need for it, and I can still do that. At this point, though, I'll need to be convinced that the customer can't wait for V5.0, which should be available by late April. |
