426.0. "BNU on "Enterprise Integration Server Version 1.0" only supports VMS V7.1 ?" by PEACHS::BECHTOLD () Tue Mar 04 1997 17:27

	Hello,

We recently had a customer point out that the BNU executables
VAX & AXP included on the "Enterprise Integration Server Version 1.0" CD,
volume label EISDOCFEB971, will only install on OpenVMS V7.1.

The March 97 Online Documentation CD #1, volume label AXPDOCMAR971, does
have executables compatible with OpenVMS V6.1 - V7.1. So, that's a simply
solution.

The custmer and I were just wondering why the "Enterprise Integration
Server Version 1.0" images would be required to run V7.1, or was this
not intentional ?

The README directory User's Guide Txt file states VMS V6.1-7.1 is supported.

Any thoughts.

The customer is right.

The BNU on the EISDOCFEB971 requires V7.1. It was built and tested
only on AXP V7.1 since it was shipping with that version of OpenVMS
and was only required to support OpenVMS AXP V7.1. It may work on
V7.0, but was not tested on that version. I don't think it will run
on V6.n.

The VAX BNU on that disc will run on OpenVMS VAXV7.0.

The BNU images on the AXP ODL CD-ROM and the forthcoming VAX ODL
CD-ROM are supported on OpenVMS V6.1 or later for both platforms.
As noted in the User's Guide, some viewers (e.g. Netscape)
may have stricter requirements.
